UK taxpayers

If you're a UK taxpayer and you donate to us now, we can increase your donation by an extra 25p for every £1 you give, through Gift Aid. If you're donating online, you'll be asked to tick a box stating that you are eligible. Alternatively, please contact the team and ask for a form.

Higher or Additional Rate taxpayers

If you are an additional or higher-rate tax payer, you can also claim the difference between the basic rate of tax and your highest rate if you make a donation with Gift Aid. You can reclaim the money either via your self-assessment tax return or phoning HMRC to adjust your PAYE tax code.

Payroll Giving

Your donation could also be made through your payroll, as a deduction against your gross salary, lowering your income tax costs. Please speak to your own HR/payroll team to arrange this.

Donors from the EU

Unfortunately, despite EU guidance you cannot always treat a donation to a UK charity as tax deductible in all EU states. As a result we have partnered with Transnational Giving Europe ( to allow you to give a donation to a local organisation in your country and claim your local tax benefits. So far we have registered in:

Netherlands: Oranje Fonds (

Germany: Maecenata Stiftung (

France: Foudation de France (

Switzerland: Swiss Philanthropy Foundation (

Belgium: King Baudouin Foundation (

Please contact them direct to give or contact us, clearly stating that you are giving to us via the Transnational Giving Europe network. Please note the partner organisation takes 5% of your donation to cover administration costs.

Donors from the US

We are currently amending our US registration as a 501(c)3 public charity. In the meantime we have partnered with the American Fund (a 501(c)3 charity) to ensure you can give and claim the tax benefits. To give visit here and select Lessons from Life Foundation from the list of evaluated charities. Please note the American Fund takes on average 5% of your donation to cover administration costs.
